The Social Coin is a non-profit organisation, which focuses on producing and distributing coins “that initiate chains of random kindness”. These acts of kindness can be followed and measured with the social coin. This coin, which can be handed out to strangers or people you know, has a unique code. When handling out a coin you should think about the act of kindness you would like to do. You can report this act of kindness on the website www.thesocialcoin.org. When you have achieved this act of random kindness, you pass the coin to the person you have done a favour for and explain him how The Social Coin works.
The Social Coin symbolise commitment, surrender and empathy. The organisation says that “each coin will start a kindness chain, which is reported on their website”. Because of the unique code that every coin has, it is possible to follow the path of the coin along each life it has touched.
